The beginning of the end is in sight -hopefully!

The title applies on two fronts, I've just realised: the rebuild of the pantry and the preparation for the wing covering.  The pantry rebuild just needs another lick of paint on the ceiling, the installation of the architraves and doors, and the power connected and we'll be ready to shift all the pantry stuff to its new home.  A long wait but we're getting there.  That then just leaves the installation of the doors on the new linen cupboards and a couple of shelves and that will be ready. But there is still the lounge to be redecorated to cover up the gap left by the old fireplace.  But the main thing is that we are getting there.

The best news, of course, is that Rex has just about got the aileron pushrods sorted out and we'll very shortly be able to start covering the wings.  Yee-hah!!  (After a bit of house-cleaning, I have to say -any resident spiders, etc. are going to have to be evicted together with their dust trails.  And after Jay has inspected the wings with tapes top and bottom on the ribs.)  So all is looking for a busy start to the New Year, with Brian getting on board and no doubt a couple of other willing helpers to remind us of the correct way to do things!!  It is some time since I did the tail feathers and the memory is starting to get those blank moments - a bit like walking into another room and wondering why on earth you went into that particular room:  sometimes it comes straight away and others you have to retrace your steps in order to jog those grey cells back into place.  Ah, the joys of ageing!

Well, to all my readers (all 3 of you?), here's to a Merry Xmas and a Happy, Healthy, (Wealthy?) and definitely a shake-free New Year!
