A new 'volunteer'

Allow me to introduce our latest 'volunteer' on the project:  he is John Evans who has had a wealth of experience in building light aircraft as well as flying in some of the most rugged parts of New Zealand.  I refer,of course, to the Mount Cook area where he regularly landed on snow fields. He is also our resident guru when it comes to the Rotec engine, having installed and fitted out one in our mentor's Nieuport 11.  And has discovered on the way some of the problems of what to fit where.  Our N16 will pose yet more problems as there is a bit less room available for him to manoeuvre the various pieces of hardware and we also have a smaller dashboard to fit things in -we've already decided we need an extra mini one for some of the instrumentation.
