Assault & Battery

Before we can do any assault on the air we first of all need a battery (a self starter and radio needs such a thing).  After we've made up our mind which battery to get we then have to figure out just where to locate it.  For that we need to know the size and what space is available, so today it was a question of temporarily putting the fuel tank back in place, basing our thoughts on a cardboard cutout (ah, shades of the Goon Show!!) and finding a place that is amenable to Weight & Balance and also where it is easily accessible. Blimey, the things you learn when building an aircraft when you know nothing about them!  So here's a photo of today's effort.

It might seem to have been "All Quiet on the Western Front" for the last few weeks, but Rex has been nibbling away at the wing construction for which there is not a great deal to show apart from this shot of the compression rib, etc.  As I've mentioned before, it's a shame that it will all get covered up -eventually.
